Who's That Girl?

I made a promise to my late husband that I would carry on his legacy by helping to bring awareness to everyone I possibly could about Akathisia.

Last Christmas my wonderful cousin made beautiful dove ornaments in his memory and with all proceeds going directly to the Akathisia Alliance for Education and Research.  The outpouring of support was so moving.  It gave our family a little bit of peace knowing we were spreading the word and helping in whatever little way we could.

Here we are a year later, and both my cousin and I were on the same page with what we wanted to do this year.  We wanted to sell angels that could be carried around by everyone so that they could remember not only Mark, but all those that have lost their battle and in honour of those still fighting.  Again, all proceeds going to such an important cause. 

As I tied each blue angel to a tag with some words from my heart and tucked it in a little sachet, I knew he was smiling down on us beaming with pride because we are doing exactly what he wanted us to do – he wanted us to fight for him and all others.  I know he is proud of us even though it is such a little thing, but we have hope that it could lead to bigger things too. We are ultimately helping others be educated, vigilant and to be advocates for themselves, their family, and friends. 

I am so immensely thankful and grateful to each and every person that purchased one of these angels.  We’ve sold 154 Akathisia Angels and made $864 from their sales in addition to other generous donations.  So, to each of you thank you on behalf of our family for helping to keep his spirit and mission alive.  We hope that when you look at your angel it will warm your heart with sweet memories of our warrior.
