Well, I said 2022 was going to be a year of changes and new beginnings and boy has it ever been. Here we are 6 months in and it has been full of exciting, challenging, scary and wonderful things too. Not only did my family dynamic change, my physical and mental health has shifted too so it was only fitting that my professional life would follow suit. So here I am – with another new beginning to complete the full circle of change.
Anybody who knows me, knows my work ethic is strong. I pour my all into my job and take pride in being the best I can be in my support role. I aim to please and take any career move I’ve made very seriously. My most recent role has been at Sephora Canada and I have absolutely LOVED every single moment of it. The people, the culture, the wealth of skincare, haircare and makeup knowledge I’ve learned and the professional experience I have gained has been such an incredible journey of growth on so many levels. Oh and how about all the gratis and desk drops of product we get gifted to us regularly?! Yup, that was something to love too! The most incredible part, however, would have to be the beautiful friendships that I’ve made and that I hope to continue having for years to come. From my Target friend who greeted me at the front desk on interview day, to my day one ride-or-die – us bocconcini’s formed quite a team. Then there are the amazing and inspirational leaders and their respective teams that I supported – you all are such beautiful human beings and I am thankful to have worked along side of you. How about our #DreamTeam Events team? The blood, sweat, tears and laughter we had through each corporate event from planning to execution are some of the greatest memories I will take with me. I never thought I would be saying goodbye to Sephora (I’m sure many people will be shocked to read these words) but here I am embarking on my next chapter and beginning. I took a leap of faith and have decided to take the next step in my career path and I am thrilled, scared, excited but most of all grateful to be doing this for not only myself but most of all, for my family.
Change isn’t easy. Never was, never will be – but change can be a beautiful thing too. As I continue on with Part 2 of my life, my heart, spirit and mind are filled with so much love, peace and plenty of gratitude. I know there are some pretty important people guiding me and cheering me on not only here on Earth but from beyond as well, and that has helped me in making many decisions for the greater good of my family. Making Mila proud and showing her how taking leaps of faith and pushing yourself to achieve more, especially as a woman, has always been my goal and I hope this will be one more thing that will make her super proud of her momma.
So, on that note let me end this by saying thank you to Sephora Canada for reminding me that you can work hard but play hard too. Thank you for bringing me some amazing experiences in Mexico to Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal and for being able to plan some epic conferences with the greatest people. For all the Get Together Thursdays with Moet, for having visibility and a wealth of knowledge within both my Marketing and Store Operations teams all being led by some of the strongest leaders I’ve had the privilege of supporting. Most importantly thank you to my Sephora family for being there for me even more so over this last year. You will forever have a Rouge client in this girl and I will be cheering for you all from the sidelines while always holding a special place in my heart for my time spent growing with you. All the best and so much love, always.
