HOLIDAYS

It is that time of year when all the hustle, bustle and craziness begins.  The traffic on the roads has increased as everyone rushes around, the financial stress that comes with the holidays and trying to find the perfect gift for all the people on your list and then reflecting on the past year and those resolutions you had set and achieved or maybe that you just fell short on accomplishing.  While the holidays can bring up excitement and happiness for most, for many people it can bring about anxiety and sadness too.  It can be a reminder of missing loved ones, or it can be sad if you normally don’t celebrate with family.

At this time last year, I was in a different headspace and although this year still has its challenges there have been many beautiful moments already too.  Special moments spent with incredibly supportive friends, happy moments shared with loved ones and even incredibly heartwarming moments with new people that have come into our lives.  It is such a blessing to be able to build a new world for both Mila and I, and I don’t take that for granted for even a second.  Things have changed so much for us, and I think we’ve both been pretty darn resilient so that’s a win in my book.

It can be a challenge to focus on what this holiday is truly about because it has become so commercialized, but I always try to remain grounded on what the true meaning of Christmas is and am always grateful for all the blessings we have around us as I try to pay it forward in whatever small way I can.

So, as we all run around like crazy with anticipation of what’s to come in the coming weeks, I hope everyone stops to appreciate all the love and blessings you already have, and I will remind everyone (and myself) that none of the other stuff really matters.  We have everything we need within our hearts and homes already so let’s all continue with being kind, loving and generous with our intentions and words as we go about our daily lives.

Wishing everyone a happy, safe, and loving holiday season!
